Tiffin Design

I joined internship programmes as a designer from July 2022 - Oct 2022 under local online business, PUTERI QASEH enterprise. I am responsible for designing artwork for their 'Tiffin' (meal containers) as well as their accompanied Jute Bag.

In the span of 4 months, I had created 13 designs for the company's tiffin. There's total of 3 cycle (Brunei Heritage theme, Travel theme and Lace theme) and it's my jobs to create draft sketches and illustrations that fit the proposed theme. Designer also responsible for creating mockup version of their work to visualise how the final product will look like.

Simpur Blue

Cycle 1 with the theme of local Brunei heritage featuring national flower, Bunga Simpur and traditional woven textile (kain tenunan) I used Kain Bertabur / Beragi as inspiration for the background.

Simpur Red

Malaysia

Cycle 2 with the theme of holiday travel destination. For Malaysia design, I included Malaysia historical and iconic buildings. Rather than depicted in urban setting, the backdrop feature greenery scenery that of Cameron highland. I want the overall artwork to have that watercolour, paintery style.

Japan Sakura

Cycle 2 with the theme of holiday travel destination. For Japan, I featured iconic building and items that mostly associated with Japan. Kawaii and soft pastel colour are the main influence in designing the look.

Paris Cafe

Cycle 2 with the theme of holiday travel destination. Focusing on city of Paris, and similarly with other 2 design. Recognisable landmarks such as Eiffel tower and their iconic food, Croissant is a must.

Floral Lace

Cycle 3 with the theme of lace. Inspired by gift box wrapped by piece of ribbon. The ribbon accompanied with intricate lace pattern on both side. The backdrop consisted of watercolour flower together with simpler crochet lace, achieving that classic vintage looks.

Dessert Pink

Cycle 3 with the theme of lace. Centers around picnic motif, I consciously drew picnic mat as the background and paper doilies as the food mat. I want this design to evoke cute dainty feeling.

Dessert Blue

Bee Honey

Cycle 3 with the theme of lace. With bees as the main motif, I drew the honeycomb as the background. For the lace ribbon design, it was inspired by old antique tablecloths or table linen that mostly feature floral lace motif.
